PRIMARY ELECTION - April 22th, 2008

CLINTON COUNTY NOW USES ALL ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES

We would like to thank the citizens, election workers, several county departments, and ES&S for making the change to electronic voting machines a tremendous success!  Previously, results would not be tallied until well into the morning hours.  Now results can be completed much earlier with final results as early as 11 p.m.!

The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) was passed by Congress during 2002 to prevent a reoccurrence of difficulties experienced during the Presidential Election of 2000.  All 67 Pennsylvania Counties are required to update their voting systems by January 1, 2006 to comply with this Federal Law.

To be in compliance with the Federal HAVA Law, Clinton County Commissioners have selected ES & S as our electronic voting vendor.  Below is a demo illustrating the steps necessary to vote electronically on our new equipment.

The Clinton County Voter Registration Office is located on the third floor of the Garden Building.

Any person who is at least eighteen years of age is eligible to register to vote. Registering to vote is easy and only takes a few minutes. Registration forms are available at Post Offices throughout the County as well as most other public offices. We also have a web application below.  Once you have filled out the form, you can either mail it or return it in person to the Voter Registration Office. After the form is processed, you will receive a wallet card in the mail.

Registration closes two times a year for a thirty-day period prior to the Primary and General Elections. This allows the Registration Office to update the voter records for that upcoming election.

Absentee ballot applications are also available through the Voter Registration Office approximately six weeks prior to an election.
