RE: Line of Duty Death, Donald Mellott

The Clinton County Department of Emergency Services regretfully announces the funeral arrangements for Donald Mellott, who gave his life in the Line of Duty on Friday February 12, 2010, while on duty with the Woolrich Volunteer Fire Company. 

Funeral services will be held at the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds, 859 Lower Creek Road, Lock Haven on Wednesday February 17, 2010. The service will begin at 11:30 AM. 

Fire, Emergency Medical Services, Police, and other emergency service units may arrive at the staging area located along East Bald Eagle Street near the Davis Insurance Building between 9 a.m. and 10:30  a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Units will be positioned as they arrive.  Personnel are invited to join in a meal at the Picnic Grounds following the funeral service. Please contact the Clinton County Communications Center at (570) 893-4090 ext. 202 if your organization is planning on attending the funeral.

DIRECTIONS & MAPS FOR FUNERAL PROCESSION, ACCESS, AND PARKING

Funeral Procession 

The Funeral Procession will travel from the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds to the Methodist Church in Castanena. The Procession will only include apparatus from organizations Mr. Mellott was involved with (Stations 5, 6, 7, &12), along with family and friends. All other fire apparatus will remain in staging area.

Leaving  Castanea Picnic Grounds, follow E Bald Eagle Street to S. Hanna Street. Turn left on S. Hanna Street and follow S. Hanna Street to Walnut Street.  Turn right on Walnut Street and follow Walnut Street to the on Ramp to Paul Mack Boulevard.  Follow Paul Mack Boulevard throught the light to West Brown Street.  Turn left onto West Brown Street and follow West Brown Street to McElhattan Avenue.  Turn Left onto McElhattan Avenue for the Castanea United Methodist Church.  See Map for further detail.

From South US 220 take the Lock Haven Exit and proceed on Paul Mack Boulevard.  From North US 220 take the Lock Haven Exit.  At the light turn Left onto Paul Mack Boulevard.  Continue on Paul Mack Boulevard and exit right on the Walnut Street Exit. At the stop sign at the bottom of the exit, turn Right onto E. Walnut Street.  Follow E. Walnut Street to S. Hanna Street.  Make a Left onto S. Hanna Street and follow until you come to E. Bald Eagle Street.  Turn Right on E. Bald Eagle Street.  Personnel will direct you from there.  See Map for further detail.
